Hâcibî's (Hacı Sâlih-zâde) work named Şerh-i Yûsuf u Zelîhâ (Analysis-criticized text)

The stem of commentary concept is based on the science of interpretation which was emerged by the struggle of understanding and expressing Kur'an-ı Kerim. In the beginning, the concept of "interpretation" was used to explain all kinds of texts but later, with the limited definition of a science explaining and interpretating just Kur'an-ı Kerim, its large meaning gave its place to the concept of commentary. Thus "commentary" was begun to use to show the studies making it easy to understand the religious-sufistic, scientific or literal texts. Inaccordance with this purpose, in Classical Turkish Literature, Turkish commentaries were made for the "masterpieces" gaining the title of "classical" of Arabic or Persian Literature. One of these commentaries is the piece of Şerh-i Yûsuf u Zelîhâ by Hâcibî made for Yûsuf u Zelîhâ by Molla Câmî and it is a XIX. century piece of Turkish commentary literature. In the first parts of our work, some information is given about, in the order of, commentary, literature of commentary, the versions of Yusuf tale in the religious books, Yusuf tales in Arabic, Persian and Turkish literature, the lifestory of Molla Câmî, Yûsuf u Zelîhâ, the lifestory of Hâcibî and his pieces. Subsequently, the text of Hâcibî was transcribed to Latin alphabet, the method of commentary is evaluated on the transcribed text and the literal and cultural materials in the piece are examined. Furthermore, the vocabulary of the piece is determined in the light of meanings which commentator gave. The aim of the work is, to present this commentary made for the masnavi of Yûsuf u Zelîhâ by Molla Câmî, having a direct or indirect influence on a lot of masnavi in Classical Turkish Literature, to the benefit of the science world and to produce a source text for the following works which will be made for the piece.
