Abstract (EN)

It is possible that the understanding of contact of hadith methodology with narrative literature and the functionality of this science only by knowing meanings and contents of hadith concepts. This study aims to introduce position of the concept of muallaq, which is important because of being closely related to Sahih al-Bukhari, in the hadith methodology. The first part of the thesis provides a general description about dictionary meaning, conceptual framework, contact with other terms and input in hadith science of the concept of muallaq which is defined as ?the hadith that reduced one or more narrator in initial part of its isnâd?. The second part emphasizes mention methods of the main sources of hadith methodology written in different periods about issues related to muallaq hadith. Additionally, this part of study refers to scholars? views about some controversial issues. As a consequence, this thesis demonstrates that the concept of muallaq exists under a private heading in some sources of hadith methodology, but in different sections in others. Although muallaq hadith is counted as inauthentic owing to inkıtâ in its isnâd, such narratives are evaluated according to the books which include muallaq hadiths.
