Abstract (EN)
In the theoretical part of this study; It is given that the general information about light steel structures and it is mentioned about the differences between the most used regulations and other building systems. It is shown that some examples of light steel structures in the world and Turkey. In addition, it is given a general information about corrosion, and is mentioned about corrosion types and corrosion protection methods. In the experimental part of this study; Full plates with unconnected elements, half-sheets with bolt connection, half-sheets with screw connection and riveted half-sheets were corroded in different ratios and axial tensile test was applied. As a result of axial tensile tests, it was determined that in the light steel elements, as the quantity of corrosion increases, both the ductility and the material strength significantly decreased. In addition,it was determined that in the largest ratio of loss of yield and tensile strength occurs in rivet bonded plates, the lowest rate of loss of strength occurs in bulge bonded sheets, the lowest tensile strength loss occurs in screwed sheets, the largest final unit extension occurs in unshielded full plates, the lowest final unit extension occurs in rivet bonded plates. In general, while it is occuring a higher resistance and ductility loss in the rivet bonded plates, it occurs less resistance and ductility loss in the nuts and screw joined plates. It is advisable to use protection methods such as galvanizing or painting to reduce corrosion in light steel sheets. It can also be suggested that this test is performed for welded sheets.
