Abstract (EN)
Aleppo, the second biggest city of Syria, is one of the most important industrial centers of the country. 38%of the trade in Syria is run through this city. This thesis, presenting a brief historic past of Aleppo city, studies the Turkish spoken by Turks live there, i.e, Aleppo dialect. I determined too many dialect features of Aleppo dialect via collections that I have had from this city?s people. When we study the Aleppo dialect we see that vowels ? ?a, ?e, ?i, ?ı, ?o, ?ö, ?u, ?ü? are used in return for ? sound in this dialect, especially in words taken from Arabic. The closed vowel ??? appears in Halab dialect, although it?s not a frequently met case. Vowel ?í? is also pretty widespread. The double-lip consonant ?w? which seen in Kharazm Turkish is present in Aleppo dialect. On studying the sound cases of Halab dialect as like sound changes, sound similarities, substitutions and that consonant becomes twin, I achieved that Aleppo dialect has too many common features with Anatolian dialects Key Words: Aleppo dialect, Language characteristics, dialect, Phonetic, morphology
