Abstract (EN)
This research aims to evaluate the satisfaction and expectations of adult people who has enrolled the courses opened within the Community Education Centers.The population of this research is the people who have registered the courses of Tuzla Community Education Center during the year of 2011-2012 (950 persona). It has been aimed to attain the whole number of trainees, but the feedback could be gathered from only 537 number of people who have still been the students at the Center.The datum of the research have been gathered through the survey named as ?the reasons for enrolling the courses and the satisfaction of trainees?. The scale consists of three parts. The first part of the scale includes personal information, the second part includes 16 expectation expressions which measures the expectations of trainees and the third part includes 20 evaluation expressions which measures the satisfaction of trainees.The datum gathered through the scales have been coded and analyzed via SPSS package programming system. The frequencies and the percentage related to the initial part of the scale have been collected and the expectations and satisfaction of trainees have been interpreted descriptively.Findings obtained from the research are the following:1.Most of the trainees are woman, at the age of 36 and above, married with children, graduated from primary school, housewives, have middle-income. It has also been identified that nearly half number of trainees had enrolled the courses before.2.?the wish of change in their daily life? and ?the need for improving their personal qualities? are the expressions that the trainees most importantly take as a reasons for joining the courses. However ?the wish of being appreciated by people? is the expression that the trainees do not mainly care about.3.In terms of the levels of satisfaction, the trainees highly state that they will recommend The Community Centers to their relatives and other people while very limited number of students state that they have had problem in understanding the course subjects.4.Meeting new people and making friends, being healthy physically and mentally, getting rid of stressfull life conditions, adapting changing life-styles of societies to their lives, seeing the courses as leisure time activities, making changes in their daily lives, being beneficial to the society and to the institutions that they work for and the courses? participated being appreciated by the society are seen as the main reasons by trainees for attending the courses. In addition, the trainees value the reasons such as: acquiring a profession or improving their professions, fulfilling the needs of family at home and contributing to family budget, improving personal skills, acquiring new information and skills, having another profession for additional income, getting prepared for a new occupation, just for curiosity, to be appreciated by society and the need for the course certificate that they have at the end.5.It is realized that the level of satisfaction of trainees is high. The trainees state that the Community Education Centers follow the changes and developments about educational issues and the teachers work in Community Education Centers are proficient enough. They also state that the staff members as well as the administrators and teachers generally help the trainees whenever they need something during the course term and they also indicate that the administrators and the teachers work for enough hours. It is also concluded that the Community Education Center supports the cultural and social needs of society, the courses meet the expectations of society. The trainees also believe that the education they have at the Community Education Centers will contribute to their professional lives and the centers are highly fair while evaluating the exams. The trainees also indicate that the problems caused by trainees or the course itself are taken into consideration by the administrators at the Community Education Center, the education realizes its objectives, they think that they will recommend to their friends, they do not have problems in understanding the course syllabus and do not have disturbing situations during the course period. The trainees also express that the issues related to the themselves are announced on time, the number of social and cultural activities are highly satisfying, and the administrators make regular visits to the classes, the Community Education Center staff also work for recovering deficiencies if occurs. The trainees state that they wish to attend the other courses and activities which take part within the Community Education Center and the Center meets their expectations in terms of education. The trainees also indicate that the equipment needed for classes are highly satisfactory.Key Terms: Community Education, Adult Education, Satisfaction.
