Public relations activities and corporate culture: Eskişehir Osmangazi University case

Globalization era, which we are experiencing now, is also century of public relations. When talking about public relations, institutionalisation, and organisations which depend on institutional culture, and can continuously express itself in a way, comes to mind. İn this respect, today, public relations is one of the inherent (inextricable) applications of organisations.One of the institutions, in which public relations is used intensively, is universities. Universities, which are higher education institutions, are among strategical organisations, in which information is produced and needed professions are educated. This study aims to deal with theoretical and practical aspects of public relations applications in Eskisehir Osmangazi University, in the context of institutional culture.Study consists of three parts. İn the first section, public relations concept, historical development and importance of public relations, tools used in public relations activities were studied. In the second section, concepts of culture and corporate culture, characteristics, elements, dimensions of corporate culture, relationship between public relations and corporate culture were emphasized. In the third section of the study, in order to support and complete the study, it was attempted to determine the history and development of Eskisehir Osmangazi University, Directorship of Media and Public Relations and its activities, Public Relations Activities and corporate culture in Eskisehir Osmangazi University.Keywords: Public Relations, Culture, Corporate Culture, Public Relations Activities and Corporate Culture in ESOGÜ
