Abstract (EN)

Folkdances, which have been a part of social life since the history of humanity, preserve the material, spiritual and cultural values of societies and transfer them to the next generations, contributing to the strengthening of social relations; It undertakes tasks such as helping, acting together, creating common feelings and values. In addition to cultural transfer through folk dances, trainers also have a different importance in terms of perceiving and conveying their effects on human health in terms of physical, psychological and physiological aspects. The level of general self-efficacy and perceived health outcomes of the coaches is very important for the correct transfer of folk dances, which are a cultural and recreational activity. This study was conducted to examine the general self-efficacy perceptions of the folkdance trainers in Diyarbakır and the perceived health outcomes in recreation. Quantitative research method was used in the study. The sample of the research consists of those who work in public education centers in the central districts of Diyarbakır in return for additional lessons; A total of 245 participants consisted of 73 women and 172 men. As data collection tool, "General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES)" adapted to Turkish by Aypay and Turkish adaptation of Yerlisu Lapa et al. The "Perceived Health Outcomes Scale in Recreation (RASCS)" made by Recreation was used. When the findings are examined, the general self-efficacy score averages of the folk dancers differ according to all variables (Gender, Age, Education, Income, Experience) except marital status. In addition, there was a difference in at least one sub-dimension in perceived health outcomes in recreation, according to all variables (Gender, Age, Education, Income, Experience) except marital status. As a result, the general self-efficacy of the folkdance coaches was found to be positively related to the health outcomes they perceived in recreation, and it is predicted that the increase in their general self-efficacy will also increase their perceived health outcomes in recreation.
