Exergy analysis of a crude oil distilation heater

Abstract (EN)

In this study; the system efficiency of a crude oil distilation heater ( F-101) at Tüpraş Batman Refinery, was determined by energy and exergy analysis. Industrial heaters significantly affects the overall efficiency of the systems, as known from the literature studies. The efficiency of F-101 heater has been specified as 88% by manufacturer. Because of its high efficiency the heater was found to be worthy to investigate. The overall energy and exergy efficiencies were found by 80% and 60% respectively as a result of these analyses. Usage of flue gases for steam superheating process cause a performance improvement by 4%.Since the system is insulated, stack flue gas heat is used for steam superheating process and has low NOx emisssions; heater is thought to be efficient enough according to similar process systems.Key Words: Heat transfer, Energy-exergy Analyses, Crude oil Heater, Heater Efficiency
