Turkish woman of Hanımeli magazine (1948-1950)

The proliferation of press and media organs enables people to become active in this area. Among the media organs, magazines also occupy an important place. With the entrance of women to the press life, especially journalism began to be in high demand. Hanımeli Magazine, which entered the publishing house in 1948, also took its place as an important tool for the women of the period. Women who could leave their daily routines with Hanımeli Magazine were not content with being magazine readers but also started to be active writers in the magazine. Although the magazine mayseemlike a fashion magazine at first glance, its content is quiterich. Many subject ssuch as history, literature and art, fashion, health, sports, male-female relations, family, currentissues, handicrafts for women, sewingan them broidery are in cluded in Hanımeli Magazine. The aim of this study is toevaluate the way Hanımeli Magazine reflects Turkish women, the life of Turkish women through the magazine, tore search the contents of the magazine and tobring it to the literature. In this study, Hanımeli Magazine, the first issue of which was published in 1948, is discussed withall its details. 36 issues published between 1948-1950 were analyzed. Thestudy, whichconsists of threeparts, provide saccess toall the contents of the journal. Information and cluesa bout the lives of the women of the period and the press life of the period are reached through the magazine.
