Design of hanönü (Kastamonu) solar power plant with different simulation programs and evaluation of production results

This study focuses on the performance analysis and design of a 276 kWp solar power plant established in 2021 in the Hanönü district of Kastamonu. At a time when the increasing energy demand and environmental impacts of fossil fuels have led to a shift towards renewable energy sources, this study highlights the importance of solar energy. The primary objective of this research was to compare the design and outputs of the Hanönü Solar Power Plant, modeled using simulation programs such as PVsyst and PV*SOL, with actual production data. The study comprehensively addressed critical steps, including feasibility studies, site selection, land assessment, technological analyses, and environmental impact evaluations. The research findings demonstrate that simulation programs provide critical data to support investment decisions and that these tools produce results closely aligned with actual production values. This highlights their effectiveness in evaluating the performance of existing investments and planning future projects. This study presents a significant framework for the use of renewable energy sources and emphasizes the need for simulation-supported analyses to better assess local energy potential. The findings of this research are expected to guide future projects in the design and performance analysis of solar power plants.
