Hasan b. Muhammed's work named Şerh-i Cedîd-i Karabaş (Review-text)

Hasan b. Muhammed was born in Kastamonu. After moving to Istanbul, Hasan Efendi worked as a preacher at the Valide Sultan Mosque and as an Imam at the Hocapaşa Mosque. He took lessons from famous teachers of the period, especially Ali el-Mansûrî (d. 1134/1721). Hasan Efendi, besides educating many students who are experts in their field, wrote the work called Sherh-i Cedid-i Karabash, which is the subject of the thesis. This work, which is an annotation of Karabash Tajwîd, has a valuable place in the field of tajwîd. The author stated that because Tajwîd of Karabash is concise, not everyone can understand this work; he also stated that the importance and judgment of tajwîd were not included in the work in question and that the demand for tajwîd had decreased. He said that he wrote the work that was the subject of the thesis. After citing the parts of the Karabash Tajwîd in his work, the author dealt with the subject in detail and supported his own view by quoting from the main source books. Hasan Efendi has added different readings of other Qurrâ' besides Hafs in the context of the conditions for the authenticity of the qirâah, which is not found in the Karabash Tajwîd, the ruling of tajwîd, the methods of learning qiraah, the differences in meds in the secondary meds of other imams, and some tajwîd issues. The aim of this thesis is to analyze and transcribe the mentioned work and present it to the benefit of scholars. This study, which is about Hasan Efendi's life and his work called Sherh-i Cedîd-i Karabash, consists of an introduction, three main sections and a conclusion. In the first part, the life of the author Hasan Efendi is given. In the second part, after the subjects in Hasan Efendi's work called Sherh-i Cedîd-i Karabash, which is the subject of the study, are explained by making use of basic qiraah and tajwîd sources, Hasan Efendi's views on the subjects are conveyed. In the third part of the study, the transcription text written according to the DIA transcription alphabet was transferred. In the conclusion part, an evaluation was made about the subjects of the mentioned work and its contributions to the science of qiraah and tajwîd were mentioned. Thus, the groundwork has been prepared for this thesis to contribute to the studies to be carried out in this field. Keywords: Qiraah, Tajwîd, Hasan b.
