Abstract (EN)

This MA thesis focuses on the preservation and promotion of immovable cultural assets in Hasankeyf, located within the boundaries of the Batman province and specifically, it examines the part of the cultural heritage in this historical settlement that is at risk of being submerged due to the Ilısu Dam and HEPP Project, as well as the methods carried out for the preservation and relocation of the heritage assets. The aim of the study is to conduct a detailed research on the relocation, preservation, and promotion of immovable cultural assets such as Zeynel Bey Tomb, Artuklu Bath, Imam Abdullah Lodge, Kızlar Mosque, Middle Gate, Süleyman Han Mosque and Er Rızk Mosque in the site of Hasankeyf. In this context, by the methods have been applied to document and contribute the new archaeo-park to the tourism sector. The design of exhibition areas ensures that the monuments are presented in harmony with natural lighting, and arrangements are made to facilitate visitors' access to the assets. The relocation of monuments within the Archaeo-Park aims to preserve cultural heritage and to increase its tourism potential. The preservation and promotion of the relocated monuments in Hasankeyf Archaeo-Park Area are important not only for the Southeastern Anatolia region but also for whole country's cultural heritage and tourism areas.
