Abstract (EN)
Handicrafts, which reflect the traditional culture of Anatolia and provide information about the artistic style of the period, are important in terms of creating a connection between the region's past and today's situation. Metal art, which is considered as a branch of handicrafts, has diversified in the historical process by undergoing changes and development in these lands, as we can understand from the works exhibited in museums and collections in various regions of Anatolia. Hasankeyf, located within the borders of Batman province, is an important historical settlement area that has hosted many civilizations due to its strategic location. The region, which has been preferred by civilizations since prehistoric times, frequently changed hands among Islamic states and later came under Ottoman rule. We see many works exhibited in the museum that the region has reached a developed level in the field of handicrafts rather than immovable cultural assets with the settlement of various civilizations in the historical process. In this study we conducted on a group of ethnographic metal artifacts in the Hasankeyf Museum, the characteristics of the samples examined, such as the material used in their production, production technique, decoration technique and decoration types, were examined in detail, the works with date inscriptions were translated, and the works without date and inscription were compared with similar museum and collection works by taking into account their form and shape features, and an attempt was made to reveal the cultural and artistic understanding of the period by making a period assumption.
