Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of repair parameters on the mechanical performance of repaired composite plates and hence to make an optimization. For this purpose numerical analyses and experiments were done and compared with each other. LUSAS 14.3 Software was utilized in the numerical analysis. For experimental study, tensile tests were performed on repaired composite samples with appropriate dimensions, by using a universal testing machine, SCHIMADZU. The samples we manufactured in Composite Research Laboratory at Dokuz Eylül University. In the numerical analyses, for optimization, four parameters were considered; length of step length of lap, stacking sequence and the number of plies. Analyses results for these parameters are compared with those of intact samples. For comparison, a number experiments were also conducted. In chapter 4, the results obtained numerically and experimentally are discussed in respect of a reliable and efficient repair.
