Abstract (EN)
In this study, neutralized poppy seed oil was obtained from poppy seed oil by using the neutralization method. The optimization process of transesterification method in biodiesel production from poppy seed oil and neutralized poppy seed oil was carried out by changing production parameters which are catalyst concentration, alcohol/oil ratio, reaction temperature and reaction time. Opium poppy seed oil biodiesel and neutralized opium poppy seed oil biodiesel were produced in optimum conditions after optimization process. The fuel properties of the obtained biodiesel were determined and conformity of these fuels with ASTM D6751 and EN 14214 standards was examined. It was tested that the catalyst concentration was wt%0,5-%0,75-%1-%1,25-%1,5 for opium poppy seed oil biodiesel and wt%0,25-%0,5-%0,75-%1-%1,25 for neutralized opium poppy seed oil biodiesel. Rate of alcohol for opium poppy oil and neutralized opium poppy seed oil; wt%10-%15-%20-%25-%30, temperature level 30-40-50-60-70⁰C and time, 30-45-60-75-90 minutes were tested. The optimum conditions for opium poppy seed oil biodiesel were obtained at 60 ℃, an alcohol/oil ratio wt%20, the reaction time of 60 min and, wt% 0,75 catalyst concentration. The maximum obtained biodiesel yield was %94,3971. The optimum conditions for neutralized opium poppy seed oil biodiesel were obtained at 50 ℃, an alcohol/oil ratio wt%20, the reaction time of 60 min. and wt%0,50 catalyst concentration. The maximum biodiesel yield for neutralized opium poppy seed oil biodiesel was %99,7608.
