Abstract (EN)
The study of this thesis aims "to reveal the impact of patient information and referral in domestic public hospitals and display the quantitative data of this interaction". Methods of patient information are stated as alternative means of mass media, printed and audio visual means, electronic means of communication, typically brochures, dashboards, patient info and referral points in hospitals. Complications faced in hospitals are examined under the headlines of problems generated of hospitals and the health system, complications originated from physical circumstances, led by physicians, health care staff and patients and how these complications influence patients, demonstrating the importance of these complications in terms of patient. The study covers literature survey, public survey and computerized statistical analysis of questionnaire outcomes. The reults were applied to 150 volunteer patients of ministry of Healt Medeniyet University Göztepe Education and Research Hospital, under a postgraduate thesis. The findings were evaluated. The conclusion of the survey reveals that housewives are particularly less literate in terms of health information and literacy of health compared to other survey attendees and suggests programmes to improve health knowledge of housewives through means of communication in terms of this target group.
