Abstract (EN)
In this study, the effect of communication between hospital staff and patient and patient's relatives on the healthcare satisfaction of the patient is examined. In the thesis study, it was analyzed whether there was a significant difference between patient satisfaction and communication between patients and doctors, nurses and other employees. At the same time, it was aimed to develop some recommendations about communication that are more effective with the patients and their relatives and their satisfaction with their health services. The study was carried out with a questionnaire applied to 300 volunteer patients within the borders of İzmir Medical Park Hospital, Karşıyaka, İzmir. All of the patients who participated in the study voluntarily answered all the questions on communication skills and patient satisfaction scale. In the study, frequency distribution analysis, reliability test, normality test, factor analysis, chi-square, correlation and regression analysis were performed. The positive findings of the study are as follows: There is a significant relationship between the level of education and the reason for choosing the hospital; There is a significant relationship between wage and frequency of admission to hospital. There is a significant relationship between the level of education and the number of visits to the hospital. The main hypotheses of the study are the effects of the communication between doctor-patient and patient's relatives, nurse-patient and patient's relatives on the overall satisfaction with health service and health institution are as follows: There is a relationship between the effectiveness of communication between doctor-patient and patient's relatives and the overall satisfaction with health service. There is a significant relationship between the communication effectiveness between the nurse-patient and the patient's relatives and the general satisfaction with the health service. In addition, there is a relationship between the communication effectiveness between nurse-patient and patient's relatives and the communication effectiveness between doctor and patient's relatives and the general satisfaction with health service.
