Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to analyze perception and expectations of families on hospital primary schools. Participants of the study were the families of the children in Sapling Hospital Primary School in x province and families of the children in Bud Hospital Primary School in y province. 6 families from Sapling Hospital Primary School and 8 families from Bud Hospital Primary School, totally 14 families were interviewed. For collecting qualitative data, semi structured interview was used. Survey data was analyzed using Descriptive Analysis approach which is one of the analysis approaches used in qualitative research methods. Participants expressed that hospital primary schools contributed many advantages to the children regarding their emotional and psychological needs besides their academic skills. According to the findings, participants expressed a lot of expectations. They expected the hospital primary schools would continue, number of teachers would increase, in-field teachers would teach, more materials such as computer, resources, books, test books would be supplied, bedside education would be provided to the children when they are not able to go to the hospital primary school, number of lessons would increase, the education would even be provided during weekends and official holidays, psychological support would be given to the families, a children psychiatrist would work for hospital primary school, doctors and other hospital staff would treat children more friendly, tolerantly, and they would do fun activities with the children, and material aid and spiritual support would be given to the hospitals.
