As experimental investigation of bioharmological values in hospital buildings

This post graduate thesis is aimed at drawing attention to the role of Bioharmology, which has occurred as a new branch of science that investigates the psychological, biological, social and cultural effects of the items people use and the natural and technical rules of the relationship between these items and their surroundings, in hospital structure. Within this scope this study consists of the sample constituted from the hospitals (private-public) in Elazığ city center, empirical measurements of CO, CO2, O2 in hospital environment, ambient temperature, radiance, relative humidity, noise, amount of dust (clean room), electromagnetic space and comparison of the results with ISO14644-1 Bioharmological Conformity Values and on-site examination and evaluation of the results in view of the data obtained from the literature. As a broader expression, the densely used areas in hospitals (Entrance, Information Desk, Corridors, Waiting Lounge, Emergency Examination, Patient Rooms and Polyclinics) that are one of the most complex structural types are examined through audile, visual and climatic perception analysis. As a result the conclusion is reached that the hospital environment is not adequate considering the available usage potential and a re-structuring is needed.Keywords: Bioharmology, Hospital Structure, Health, Space Criteria,Peace Criteria
