Hospital inner space analysis of patient layers: Case for Adana

It is seen an increasing in the number of hospital structures in recent years depending on the increasing diseases, population increases and developing technology. As process goes by, people began to receive a treatment ward type (multi-bed) spaces, while people receiving in primitive environments and primitive conditions when examining the historical processes as a result of my research.The units requiring being included in the patient flats and standards requiring being included in these units were determined by examining the health standards in 2010 of World Health Standards (AIA / HHS) and Ministry of Health of Turkey in my research with the case of Adana themed of space analysis of patient flats of the hospitals.The research was performed intended for patient flats of 6 hospitals including Acibadem Hospital, Metropark Hospital, Guney Toros Hospital, Baskent Hospital, Numune education and research hospital, Askim Tufekci Cukurova State Hospital located in Adana. Plans of patient flats of the hospitals were examined and units included in the unit were determined, analysis of patient flat, lighting, air conditioning, acoustic insulation, material color and texture was performed. Spaces located in patient flat of the hospital was determined and compliance with health standards determined of these spaces, color, material, lighting, air conditioning, functionality, space solutions, space dimensions, furniture accessories were analyzed. As a researched performed in 6 hospitals, it was determined that Askim Tufekci Cukurova State Hospital taken into service before 39 years is unable to adapt to the today's conditions between hospitals examined in terms of foundation year, structure, solution and design of floor plan. Studies were performed in Department of Interior Architecture of Faculty of Fine Arts of Cukurova University in order to make Askim Tufekci Cukurova State Hospital suitable with today's conditions. As a result of these studies, 18 different interior designs of emergency area and flats of patients' beds of the hospital that are compatible with today's high technology and standards of health care organization, having modern lines, to be relived the patients in terms of color and interior design.It was determined that functional space solutions, modern spaces, special lighting systems, materials requiring hygiene, solutions requiring acoustic insulation, intelligent air-conditioning and patient control systems, colors and interior designs to be relieved the patients as psychological were performed in interior spaces of new hospitals that number of specialized hospitals are increased and taken into service in Adana that is candidate to be one of the major health tourism centers in Turkey.How will hospitals established before 1990 be brought to the level of that to be met the today's conditions economically by modernizing and equipping with new technologies was described.Keywords: Hospital, patient flats, sick rooms, Interior Designs of Hospital floor, Design standards of patient flats of the hospital.
