Abstract (EN)

Clostridium difficile may be confronted with a spectrum of diseases ranging from a simple diarrhea to a life-threatening colitis chart. In healthy adults there is a small number of normal florals in the intestine without causing any probing. Treatment of diseases such as antibiotics, cytostatic drugs, radiation and mechanical cleaning of the intestines before surgery also destroys the colon flora and causes the spread of Clostridium difficile spores, which are common in the environment, the prolongation of the hospital stay and cost increase. In this study, 104 gaita samples belonging to 77 patients who were hospitalized for 72 hours or more of inpatient treatment in Düzce University Health Research and Application Center between July and September 2015 were taken and studied by Clostridium difficile toxin A / B ELISA method. Risk factors that were effective in the development of infected colonization of patients included in the study were analyzed and recorded by the SPSS v.22 packet program. Only three patients were found positive from Clostridium difficile Toxin A / B in 104 samples from 77 patients. The three patients, who were positive, were noted to have an average hospital stay of one month, severe underlying disease, and were taking antibiotics and gastroprotective medication from the time of admission. Our results are important in terms of our hospital and the fact that it is the first to be reported from our region. We believe that the work done in this subject is extremely limited and that our data will contribute to other studies KEYWORDS: Clostridium difficile, pseudomembranous enterocolitis (PMC)
