The factors affecting the motivation of doctors, nurses and midwives at hospitals: An aplication

All businesses have to give importance to their employees for achieving their objectives and stay alive. Each motived personel plays a step for their institution to achieve its aims. If these steps are not strong, the business may fails. Highly motivated personel will provide a benefit for their companies to reach its objectives.The aim of this study is to investigate the factors that affect the motivation of nurse, midwife and doctors at hospitals. For this aim a questionnaire is applied on 120 health personels (40 doctors, 46 nurses and 34 midwifes) in Mersin Wife Birth and Child Hospital, Duygu Medical Centre and Yenişehir Hospital. T-test, descriptive analysis and analysis average methods are used to evaluate the results. Health personels are analyzed as a whole and as a group to investigate the motivation factors seperately.The results found in this study are as follows: the most important tool that affects the personel performance is the money. The effect of ventilation, lightening and hygienic environmet on motivation is very high. Doctors, nurses and midwifes are mostly motivated by organizational and managerial tools and least motivated by psychology-social motivation tools.
