Abstract (EN)
This thesis aims to provide a detailed analysis of the control and disposal of nuclear wastes generated in hospitals. Hospitals are significant sources of nuclear waste generation due to the use of radioactive materials during medical procedures. The effective control and safe disposal of these wastes are of utmost importance to ensure the health and safety of both healthcare workers and the general public. Furthermore, nuclear waste management and disposal hold great significance due to their environmental impacts, effects on public health, and long-term consequences. This study seeks to contribute to the identification of strategies for the control and disposal of nuclear wastes generated in hospitals. To achieve this objective, various research methods such as literature review, field studies, surveys, interviews, and laboratory analyses will be employed to comprehensively examine the types, quantities, sources, effects, radioactive characteristics, and current management processes of nuclear wastes in hospitals. Additionally, national and international legal regulations, policies, best practices, standards, and international protocols will be reviewed. The findings of this study will contribute to the identification of effective strategies for the control and disposal of nuclear wastes generated in hospitals and the improvement of current nuclear waste management practices. The findings will identify deficiencies in the nuclear waste management processes in hospitals, assess risks and challenges, and highlight areas that need to be addressed. Moreover, recommendations will be provided for reducing radioactive waste generation, adopting proper storage methods, implementing safe transportation procedures, and establishing an effective disposal process. These recommendations will assist hospitals in enhancing their nuclear waste management processes and creating a safe, environmentally friendly, and sustainable healthcare environment.
