Abstract (EN)

STATISTICAL EVALUATION OF ELECTRONEUROMYOGRAPHY RESULTS FROM CHILD PATIENTS AND DETERMINATION OF NORMAL ENMG RANGES FOR MOTOR AND SENSORY NERVES Electroneuromyography (ENMG) is a test to reveal functional anomalies and determine whether structural anomalies lead to functional loss. The data of child patients are not yet fully established in comparison to adult patients. In the previous studies, factors such as temperature, age, height parameters which affect the data have been presented along with ethnicity and dermographic variations. For this reason, it is necessary for each hospital to determine its own upper and lower limits in order to provide more informative and easy evaluation. In this study we have detected the minimum, maximum and median values ​​of distal latency, amplitudes, and velocity data for sensory and motor nerves in a study of 249 patients using normal data of ENMG patients between 2009 and 2016. 252 of the data attained during the study were from female patients (50.8%) and 244 were from male patients (49.2%). The data from these nerves are clustered within age groups of 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months, 12-24 months, 24-48 months, 48-72 months, 72-120 months, 120-168 months, 168-216 month. Sensory nerve results showed a positive correlation between age and median distal latency, amplitudes, and velocity. There was a positive correlation between age and distal latency, amplitudes and velocity of sensory ulnar nerve, and a positive correlation between age and radial distal latency and velocity at the same time. A positive correlation was found between age and median amplitudes and speeds in motor nerve results. As age increases, motor radial nerve distal latency and tibial latency also increases, showing a positive correlation. In accordance with the literature, it has been found that the rate of sensory neurotransmission in children reaches adult values around the age of 4. Our study suggests that each department needs ENMG studies involving a larger number of data to reflect their own limit values. Key words: ENMG, children.
