The evaluation of implations for pain control done by health staff caring the patient

This research has been can?ned out in Sahinbey Research and Intervention Hospital in order to define the roles of nurses in postoperative pain controlling. All nurses working in the hospital during the dates between February- April, 2007 has taken part in the study. As data collecting tools, questionnaire prepared by the author and the pain lessening scale has been used.One-Way_Anova Test has been applied for the comparison of quantitive data, and the parameters- among groupsthat shows normal distribution: TUKEY HSD has been used to determine the group causing to differences ; as evaluating both group, T Test (Stundent T Test) is used for Independent Group, and Ki-Square Test is used to compare the quantative data. In the total score classification of the scale of methods to lessen the pain, %34.7 knows the methods to lessen the acute pain very well, % 57.8 knows well, %7,5 knows according to points nurses get from the tests. On having a look through the questions including sub-groups of the scale of methods to lessen pain; the highest point belonging to the knowledge management is followed by pain evaluation, and maintaining the physical comfort is determined as the sub-group that has the lowest point.
