Fehlerlinguistik: Fehler Türkischer Deutschlerner

This thesis examines the significance of errors in the process of learning German by Turkish-speaking learners and aims to identify and comprehend the various types of errors. In a theoretical section, a comprehensive insight into error linguistics is provided, emphasising the importance of errors for language learning in general and examining in detail the steps of error linguistics, namely error identification, error description and classification, error explanation, error correction and evaluation, and error therapy and prevention. In the practical part, an empirical study conducted with 100 students at Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University /Turkey is presented in order to analyse the specific error patterns of Turkish-speaking learners of German. The methodology of data collection and analysis is explained, followed by a detailed presentation of the results, which analyses different error categories such as spelling errors, form and inflection errors, morphosyntactic errors, syntax errors, word choice errors, and text and reference anomalies. The analysis is intended to provide a clear picture of the most common and serious errors that occur in these specific learners. Keywords: Errors, error linguistics, German learners, Turkey
