Abstract (EN)

Hatay as apreliminary residental area of human history has witnessed conflicts between societies who have different religions believes and ethnic identities. Sovereignty wills of different societies are mainly arise from that area's strategical location, climation fertile agricultural lands related to its good climation and rich historical background. Hatay as its Social structure built on differences has been identified as city of leniency and peace by earning different valves from the societies been hasted in the interval. During the years between 1960-1971 which was the time scope of our study it was observed that the diversity in Hatay society continued. And there weren't any conflicts between groups with different religions and identities. Hatay like other Anatolian cities, was affected by the 1960 coup and 1971 Military Memoranelum, but revealed a city character in which events did not grow much and losses were less. Hatay respect to its warm climate and fertile lands annexed to the Pepuclic of Turkey as a last part was able to be integrated with both national and international economy throygh reforms and investments made in a short time. Hatay as a city where cultural life is quite lively and cultural activities are intense, has been defined vital areas such as education and health as a priority since beginning of 1960's. By the 1970's, Hatay was able to make investments in areas such as education and health, which are essential to human life and was able to became sufficient for its own population.
