Dictionary of Khatayi's Divan (Contextual index and functional dictionary)

In the 16th century, as a sovereign who changed the course of history, Shah Ismail Hatâyî legated his Dîvân that is essential specimen of Turkish language and poetry in the Azarbaijan region. However at first sight Shah Ismail Hatâyî was a ruler, his poetry's value cannot be disclaimed. Because his poetry is the first source to detect the perspective of a Turkish ruler about art and language. In addition, the second layer of his poems in the Dîvân indicates the own perception of a ruler about historical events. It is possible to observe the marks of historical events between the lines of ghazals and qasidas. This layer is enriched by the religious and mystical ideas of Shah Ismail Hatâyî and his Turcoman people. The forth importance of his poetry for a researcher is demonstrating the conversion of religious and mystical ideas into political ideas. The new criticised publication of Shah Ismail Hatâyî's Dîvân by Prof. Muhsin Macit will be the fundament for new perspectives and interpretations as the firsthand source. In this postgraduate thesis, by grounding Macit's publication on, it is prepeared the contextual index and functional dictionary to ease the new studies on the Dîvân within the Project of TEBDİZ.
