ivCOMPUTER BASED TEST AND CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFTDIRECTIONAL GYRO SYSTEMS(M.Sc. Thesis)Atınç ÖZKAYAGAZI UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYMarch 2006ABSTRACTCG-130 type directional gyro systems used as a navigation system onthe aircraft are always required to be tested and repaired due to theirdesign specification and frequent use. Gyro systems that are removedfrom the aircraft and put under operation on the shop environment forrepair and control action, should be tested and calibrated after beingrepaired just before they are reinstalled to the aircraft. In this thesis, thedesign of a test set which will be used in the test and control action ofCG-130 type directional gyro systems is explained, the characteristicsand functions of computer based test set which is manufactured afterthe application of the design, are studied and comparisons on theaccuracy and usage of the manufactured test set design are discussed.Science Code : 916.1.034Key Words : CG-130, Directional GyroPage Number : 138Adviser : Dr. Nursel AKÇAM
