Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, energy absorption and reaction force from the dynamic impact test results of the bumper, which is the air spring component, are investigated. Alternative designs were created for the existing broken bumper that was broken in the dynamic impact test. Analyzes of the designs with finite element models are solved through Radioss software. According to the analysis results obtained, the approximate design functions are created and the size optimization problem for the suitable designs is defined for the minimum weight. The defined optimization problem was solved with matlab and minimum weight was obtained for the bumper that did not break. Finally, taking into account the tensile stress of the optimum weight bumper, a dynamic impact test analysis was carried out, and it was observed that the optimum weight bumper did not break.
