Abstract (EN)

The airport master plan is created to guide the future development expectations of airports. Master plan leads to form a method to expand and develop the airport service in in a logical, sustainable and cost effective manner. An airport is comprised of a huge variety of facilities, systems, users, workers, rules, and regulations. So that, airport master plan is in a multidisciplinary and complex structure that needs engineering and technical design issue; includes management technics and needs political decisions.Airport master planning theories and master planning phases are defined in a different way, even though international aviation organization such as ICAO, IATA and FAA have the same fundamental principles. When airport master planning application in USA, Europe, Turkey and the other countries? airports researches, it is found that international organizations suggestion and the applications are different. In this research the reasons of these defferences are questioned and developed some suggestions for Turkish airports.
