Enviromental impacts of airports

In today's world, communication and transportation continue to develop and increase with technology. Transportation is an important and integral part of the quality of life of modern people. In addition to the social changes brought about by the developments in transportation, there are also important environmental effects. One of the main transportation elements that cause these effects is air transportation. The air transport sector, which has an important position today, is developing gradually. Airports, which are accepted as connection points for air transport, pave the way for the economic, social and cultural development of the regions they are located in, but also have a negative impact on the environment. In this study, the environmental effects of airports, noise pollution caused by the activities of airports were mentioned, carbon monoxide, nitrogen monoxide and hydrocarbon emissions caused by aircraft in taxi mode were calculated and suggestions were made on measures to be taken against their damages.At the same time, an analysis of the carbon emissions caused by passenger aircraft, which are more preferred in Turkey, was carried out.
