Abstract (EN)
Logistics has witnessed a continuous development since its emergence. Its importance has increased day by day, and today logistics has gained a global dimension with the new requirements of the business. Recent developments between different mods of transportation formed logistics combinations and turned logistics operations into a complex structure. Logistics become a wide global network today, and the use of electronic information technologies lead its speed increased. What is called e-logistics is used widely in today's transportation systems. One of the sectors in which e-logistics can be found in action is the airway transportation sector. Although, airline is used in transportation in the last decades, it is a gradually developing sector. The increasing consumer demands are the force behind the developments in the airlines sector, resulting, airlines are the leading transportation sector in which e-logistic systems are effectively conducted. The aim of this four-section-study is to research the factors affecting the desired consequences of e-logistic systems. Definitions of logistics concept, different mods of transportation and airline transportation sector are reviewed. In order to research the e-logistics consequences, a pre-prepared questionnaire form is used as the data collection tool; participants are the cargo transportation firms in airlines industry. Data is collected with face to face interviews. Findings suggest that the preliminary goals of the firm before conducting e-logistics, expectations of decrease in costs, expectations of better warehouse utility, and the application phase of e-logistics are found to have statistically significant effect on the desired e-logistics consequences.
