Abstract (EN)
Considering the importance that computing (IT) plays in achieving performance improvements in business processes, the study aims to realize the potential of the fourth industrial revolution - Industry 4.0 and the technological advances it drives with it to realize the current processes. Recently, Industry 4.0 is needed in many sectors. Instead of existing manual or assisted computer systems, Industry 4.0 offers human beings the opportunity to use more digital and more automated systems. This facility provides an opportunity to transfer the time and effort resources in systems to more qualified activities. The air transport sector is one of the sectors in which this opportunity can be realized. The existing systems maintained with the investments made need digital transformation with the continuous advancement of technology. The duration of the processes in the current system, the disconnections in the process flow cause both customer dissatisfaction and cost increase. In this study, boarding process, which is one of the operational processes of airline transportation and which is open to improvement, was discussed. The classic boarding process has been redesigned using the Internet of Things technology which is one of the Industry 4.0 components. A management model has been created for the Internet of Things based boarding process, namely Boarding 4.0. In line with the information obtained from the experts of the sector, the value-added outputs of Boarding 4.0 have been presented by evaluating fuzzy AHP.
