SUMMARY importance of Cadastral Words and Administratived Borders in River Basin Planning : A Case of Trabzon - Değirmendere Watershed River basin planning is defined as administration, progress and planning of continuous exploitation of natural resources in order to give rise to social, cultural and economic development of the society taking into account the basic principles of ecology of a river basin. With this aim an Environmental Landscape Project has been commenced in the Değirmendere River Basin which is of high importance for Trabzon with the joint venture of Blacksea Technical University and the Governor. It is projected replanning of the area under the light of data provided together with some relative assumptions and determinations as a result of necessary analyses, and any kind of locational or unlocational geographic data regarding distribution of settlement areas possesion and technical substructure together with physical, socio economic land usage in the Değirmendere Valley. This Masters degree thesis focusses on the influence of administrative border problems in the area and relative mapping surveys of the Değirmendere valley. Thus; administrative border and posession problems that have been interrupting mapping studies in the basin have been examined and collected data are evaluated via Netcad, Arc/Info and Arc View software programs. In conclusion main reasons that cause administrative border problems have been put forward and solutions have been produced accordingly.
