Primary teacher's perspective and a structured drama proposal throuch children's literature in teaching life studies

Life Studies course in the first three years of primary education; It is an important lesson that affects children's lives both inside and outside of school. This study, which aims to determine the opinions of classroom teachers about children's literature and structured drama in life studies teaching, is a qualitative study and a case study/case study pattern was used. Working group; Theses, books, articles, life studies course curricula, journals and research in digital environment and 60 volunteer classroom teachers working in different primary schools in Turkey in the spring term of the 2020-2021 academic year. Printed and online databases, "Semi-structured Interview Form on Children's Literature and Structured Drama in Life Studies Teaching" and "Individual Status Form" were used as data collection tools. Document analysis, descriptive analysis and content analysis were used in the analysis of the data. Sample drama lesson plans were created on the basis of the literature and the opinions of the classroom teachers. In the literature, it is seen that drama studies structured with children's literature texts are generally used in Turkish teaching. It is thought that this study, which is carried out in a different course within the scope of Life Studies teaching, will contribute to the development of drama activities, which are fictionalized with children's literature texts, in different disciplines. The Life Studies course was chosen in this study because the Life Science course is called the pivotal course in primary school, its achievements directly overlap with the aims of drama, and the studies on this subject are insufficient. The connection of the Life Studies course with other courses is a pioneer in terms of integrating and using the drama method structured with children's literature texts into other courses.
