Abstract (EN)

Ready-made clothing sector is one of the leading sector of Turkey's economy. In this research, the actualization process of ready-made clothing sector's is examined in detail with its reasons and the effect of ready-to-wear department in vocational education institutions on the sector is investigated. Findings, show that vocational education doesn't actually have active contribution on the sector and schools must collaborate with ready-to-wear sector. At the first part of this thesis, fashion concept is touched on and it's relationship with ready-to-wear is discussed. At the second part, main terms about ready-to-wear (clothing, haute couture, ready-to-wear) are explained and historical process of ready-to-wear and the improvements in this period are examined. At the third part, the condition of the ready-to-wear trade in the World and in Turkey is dealed by years. At the fourth part, general information about vocational education is explained. At the extent of the research, the teachers who works at the vocational education schools in İznik were interviewed. The opinions of interviewees about the effect of vocational education on the sector and the information that the researcher received are presented in the findings part and suggestions are provided. The study was supported by the related literatüre, too. As a result, it has been reached that the vocational education institutions are not sufficiently effective on the sector.
