Abstract (EN)
Physicians' obligation to inform patients plays an important role in the protection of patients' personal rights beside ensuring the establishment of trust relationship with them and maintaining this relationship. Putting the right to determine one's own future which is taking place in the scope of patient rights into practice and providing patient autonomy depends on the application of the obligation to inform patients. For this reason, it is vital to set the content and borders of obligation to inform patients. This study aims to set the content of obligation to inform patients considering the arrangements in national and international legislation and give place to special cases which physician may face with. The violation of obligation to inform patients will lead to the emergence of responsibilities across various branches of law. In our study, beside being referred to professional, administrative and criminal responsibility of the physicians, the issues of legal liability are discussed in terms of amends.
