Investigation of medical doctors' levels of mindfulness and perceived stress in terms of leisure habits

The main aim of this study is to determine the mindfulness and perceived stress levels of medical doctors, to compare these level in terms of different variables and to determine the correlation between mindfulness and perceived stress. Correlational survey model of quantitative research methods was used in the research. In the current study, 119 females (Meanage = 30,04± 4,80) and 162 males (Meanage = 32,03± 8,04) and in total 281 voluntary participants (Meanage = 31,19± 6,92) who were chosen using convenient sampling method took place. In the study, demographic information form prepared by the researcher, Mindfulness Scale and Perceived Stress Scale were used to collect data. Kurtosis and Skewness analyses were carried out to determine if the collected data show normal distribution. T-tests, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation, and simple linear regression analyses were conducted for data analysis, with a significance level set at 0.05. The Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficients of the scales used in the study were calculated and The internal consistency reliability of the measurement tools used in this study was calculated using Cronbach's Alpha, along with construct reliability and the shared variance explained coefficients. As a result of the difference analyses, significant difference were found in terms of scales. Also, significant correlations were found between scales. In conclusion, the concepts of mindfulness and perceived stress are important when evaluated in the context of physicians.
