Abstract (EN)
The prevalence of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is increasing day by day and CKD influences multiple system. One of the effect is on the skeleton system. It is referred to Bone Mineral Diseases (BMD). In these people, BMD is one of the reason for mortality. In CKD; the frequencies of osteoporosis in increasing because of many reasons; such as mineral in balance. The aim of th study is identify frequency of osteoporosis in hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis and factors in in development of osteoporosis. For this study; patients were enrolled at Akdeniz University Medicine Faculty Peritoneal Dialysis Policlinic and Hemodialysis Clinic. Eligible patients were older than 18 and doing hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis and have risk factors for osteoporosis. In this study; there were 74 patients. Half of the patients did hemodialysis, half of them did peritoneal dialysis. The people who had previous bone mineral diseases except CKD or bone cancer were not eligible. In these people; we assessed osteoporosis's risk factors. We asked age, menopausal age, smoking, phosphate binding, time of dialysis and history of broken bone. We reported their laboratory parameters related osteoporosis. We entered their data in SPSS23. We made eligible statiscal analyses. There were 74 patients in our study.32 of patients (43%) had osteoporosis, 17 patients who had osteoporosis were women, 15 of the patients who had osteoporosis were men. Calcıum (p: 0,01), and 25 OH vitamin D concentration (p: 0,039), phosphate binding-not contain calcıum (p: 0,042) and body weight (p: 0,001), were detected to be related osteoporosis, the most important related thing was body weight. When body weight decreased, the risk of osteoporosis were increasing. In our study; peritoneal dialysis was less related to osteoporosis than hemodialysis. People who using phosphate binding which didn't contain calcıum were protected osteoporosis in peritoneal dialysis (p: 0,055). In conclusion; the most important thing is body weight for osteoporosis both of the groups. However; there are few people in our study. Because of this many reasons related with osteoporosis in dialysis patients were not found significant. In dialysis patients; osteoporosis is one of reason for mortality and morbidity. Therefore, we must choice eligible dialysis type for people who have high risk of osteoporosis and is have to be avoided osteoporosis. People who have osteoporosis should be examined and be cured eligible treatment.
