Abstract (EN)

Hemodialysis, which is frequently used in the treatment of chronic renal insufficiency disease, adversely affects patients and their families in terms of psychological, social and economic aspects and decreases their quality of life. This study was carried out to reveal the effect of resilience of chronic renal insufficiency patients taking hemodialysis treatment. Relational screening model was used in the research by using quantitative research method. The study was carried out with 101 patients receiving regular hemodialysis treatment in Iskenderun State Hospital and Baskent University Iskenderun Dialysis Center. In the research, several data collection tools are used: In order to reveal the Socio-Demographic characteristics of hemodialysis patients, a Socio-Demographic form prepared by the researcher; to demonstrate the level of quality of life, SF-36 Quality of Life Scale and to reveal the levels of resilience, Resilience Scale for Adults. The data collected in the research analyzed by a computer program called SPSS Statistics 23 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences 23). As results of the research, it is found that there is a statistically significant difference between hemodialysis patients' income level, hemodialysis duration and quality of life and gender, hemodialysis duration, and resilience level. There is a statistically significant, weak and positive correlation between the Personal Strength sub-dimension scores of the Resilience Scale and General Health and Mental Health sub-dimension scores of SF-36 Quality of Life Scale. There is also a statistically significant, weak and positive correlation between the Social Resources sub-dimension scores of the Resilience Scale and Mental Health sub-dimension of Quality of Life Scale.
