Abstract (EN)
vSYNTHESIS and INVESTIGATION OF ADSORPTION PROPERTIES OFHEMOGLOBIN IMPRINTED POLY(N-t-BUTYLACRYLAMIDE-CO-ACRYLAMIDE/ITACONIC ACIDE) HYDROGELS(M. Sc. Thesis)AYŞEGÜL UYSALGAZI UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYAugust 2006ABSTRACTIn this study, pH sensitive imprinted poly(N-t-butylacrylamide-co-acrylamide/itaconic acide) hydogels were synthsized via free radicalcrosslinking copolymerization of corresponding monomers in threedifferent pH buffer solutions (4, 6,8, 8) for hemoglobin (Hba) by usingmolecular imprinting method. Hba adsorption from Hba buffer solutionswith three different pH was investigated by two types of hydrogelssystems prepared by non-imprinted and imprinted methods. Hydrogelsimprinted with Hba showed higher adsorption capacity and specificityfor Hba than hydrogels prepared by the usual procedure . At all studiedconditions the highest Hba adsorption was observed in the hydrogelimprinted with 4,15 % Hba. In addition, the imprinted hydrogelsexhibited both good selectivity for Hba and high adsorption ratedepending on the number of Hba sized cavities. Adsorption studiesshowed that other stimuli, such as pH and initial Hba concentrationalso influenced the imprinted hydrogels.Science Code : 201.1.117Key Words : Hemoglobin adsorption, molecular imprinting, hydrogelPage Number : 71Supervisor : Assoc.
