Nurse performance evulation system : An example of İzmir Military Hospital

As measuring the contributions of workers as both individuals and team members to organization, performance evaluating is seen as an important aspect of today?s strategical management of human resources with its results to be a guide for managers.In hospitals, similar to other organizations, the main point to have high performance is working with high performanced individuals. In this context, the nurses? performances as part of an important part of hospitals needed to remain high for providing qualified health cares in hospitals. The levels of nurses? achieving modern roles and functions should be detected by hospital management and for improving them to a good level needed applications should have been adopted.This thesis study is planned aiming to create a nurse performance evaluating system with being implemented during a process and detecting nurses? strengths and weaknesses in the light of these results.In this paper, firstly, we have made a literature scanning by focusing on performance evaluating as an application of performance management, hospital as a health care organization, nursery concepts as an obligatory factor of health care team, latter, in a field study through İzmir Military Hospital, we have measured nurses? performances on their modern roles and functions by using nurses performance evaluating system, and finally we have made statistical evaluations and interpretations of results of literature scanning and field study and improved suggestions.Key Words: Performance, Performance Evaluation, Performance Management, Nursery Serves, Nurse Performance Evaluating System, Hospital Organizations.
