Professional perception and psychological capital in nurses

The study was conducted in a descriptive and relationship-seeking study in order to examine the professional perception and psychological capital levels of nurses and the relationship between these concepts. The data of the study was collected with "Personal Information Form, Psychological Capital Scale and Nursing Vocational Perception Scale". The study used numbers, frequency distribution, average, standard deviation, minimum and maximum values, Kolmogorov-Smirnov (K-S) and Shapiro Wilks, Mann-Whitney U test, Kuruskall Wallis Htests. In addition, Cronbach Alpha, Spearman Correlation Coefficient and Linear Regression analysis were implemented. It was determined that 53.5% of the nurses participating in the study were between the ages of 24-29, 68.9% were women, 55.1% were married, 57% had no children, and 67.3% had a bachelor's degree or higher. It was determined that nurses got an average of 4.33±0.79 points from the Psychological Capital Scale (PCS) and 82.81±10.05 points from the Nursing Profession Perception Scale (NPPS). The correlation value between scales has been found in a positive and low level (r=0.103; p<0.005) with a meaningful relationship. There has been a significant difference between some identifying features of the nurses and the two scale points and the lower dimension scores (p<0.05). Research findings have shown that the positive change in the psychological capital of nurses has significantly increased their perception of the nursing profession. A significant difference between some identifying features of nurses and scales and scale sub-dimensions has contributed to the determination of the factors associated with the occupational perception and psychological capital of nurses.
