Abstract (EN)
The study is a descriptive cross-sectional study conducted to examine the effect of professional resilience and self-care levels on professional quality of life in nurses. The study was conducted between December 2023 and June 2024 with 524 nurses working in a foundation and a state university hospital who agreed to participate. The research data were collected with the Descriptive Information Form for Nurses, Skovholt Professional Resilience and Self-Care Inventory (SPSI) and Employee Quality of Life Scale (EQLS). Descriptive statistics, Student t and ANOVA tests were used for data analysis and Bonferroni correction method was used for further statistical analysis. Pearson Correlation analysis and then Linear Regression analysis were used for relationship analyses. According to the results of the study, it was determined that the SPSE levels of the nurses were above the average, and the statistical difference between the income status, mental and physical health perceptions, status of choosing the profession, working style, satisfaction levels and SPSE scale score was significant when compared with sociodemographic and occupational characteristics (p<0.05). According to the mean scores of the participants on the SPSE scale; the mean score of professional satisfaction was found to be low, the mean score of burnout was found to be medium, and the mean score of compassion intensity was found to be high (p<0.05).It was determined that there was a positive and moderately significant relationship between SPSE all subscale and total mean scores and professional satisfaction, a negative and moderately significant relationship with burnout, and a negative and weakly significant relationship with compassion fatigue (p<0.05). It was found that as the professional resilience levels of the nurses increased, their professional satisfaction levels increased, burnout and compassion fatigue levels decreased. v In line with the results of the study, it was recommended that awareness should be raised about self-care and professional resilience, professional satisfaction of nurses should be increased, and psychiatric nurses should provide counselling to their colleagues within the scope of consultant liaison nursing.
