Abstract (EN)

Aim: In this research, ıt was aimed to examine the effect of individual innovativeness levels of nurses on attitudes against change. Material and Methods: The research was planned as a descriptive and cross-sectional type. The population of the research composed of 457 nurses (N = 457) working in the center of Bolu Province T.C. Ministry of Health Abant İzzet Baysal University Izzet Baysal Education and Research Hospital. Number of samples was calculated as 171 to be the smallest number to be reached in the Epi Info 2000 program with 50% unknown prevalence, 0.05 deviation, and 95% confidence interval and 186 nurses were reached (n = 186). The data were collected between 01 August and 30 September 2016 by using The Individual and Professional Characteristics Form of Nurses, Attitudes Against Change Scale (ATCS), Individual Innovativeness Scale (IIS). SPSS 23 package program was used for data analysis. Results: The average age of the nurses in the research are 32,73 ± 0,85.79.6% of the nurses are female, 68.8% of the nurses are married, 63.4% of the nurses have bachelor's degree, 95.7% of the nurses work as permanent staff in the hospitaland 30.1% of the nurses work in clinical units at the hospital. It was found that the level of The Individual Innovativeness of the nurses was low (60,10 ± 7,90) and the level of Attitude Against Change of the nurses was moderate (60,98 ± 12,66). The category of individual innovativeness of the nurses is skeptical. There was a positively weak (r = 278) relationship between the total score of The Attitude Against Change and the total score of the Individual Innovativeness Scale. Conclusions: It was found that the level of individual innovativeness of the nurses positively effected their attitude against change. Key Words: Nursing, Individual Innovativeness, Change
