Abstract (EN)

Aim: The aim of this study is to determine the measures taken by nurses to protect against the Covid-19 virus and methods of coping with stress and stress. Method:The research, which was carried out according to a descriptive and cross-sectional design, was carried out with nurses working in Manisa City Hospital between August 2020 and March 2021. The sample of the study consisted of 237 nurses. Data Nurse Information Form, Perceived Stress Scale and the Stress Coping Styles collected by the scale.SPSS 15.0 package program was used to evaluate the data. Findings: The most commonly used protective measures by nurses when caring for Covid-19 patients were gloves (96.6%), mask (95.3%), N95 mask (90.7%). It has been determined that nurses mostly feel stressed about carrying viruses to their families or close circles, and experiencing physical or psychological disorders. The total score of the nurses' perceived stress scale was determined as 30.36±5.63. In coping with stress of nurses; Self-confident approach sub-dimension mean score of 19.83±3.44, optimistic approach sub-dimension mean score of 13.99±2.37, helpless approach sub-dimension mean score of 18.23±4.15, submissive approach sub-dimension mean score 12.89±2.98, approach to seeking social support subscale mean scores were found to be 10.83 ± 1.97. Conclusion: In our study, the majority of nurses feel stressed in the process of Covidien-19 has been determined that the pandemic. It has been determined that they are insufficient in using the methods of coping with stress. Health institutions should reduce the stress on nurses and support them to work more motivated.
