Factors Affecting Nurses' Attitudes Towards Infertility and Their Views Towards Assisted Reproductive Techniques Aim: The aim of the study is to determine the factors affecting nurses' attitudes towards infertility and their views towards assisted reproductive techniques. Material and Method: This is cross-sectional research. The sample of study consisted of 485 nurses working in Malatya Training and Research Hospital and Turgut Özal Medical Center. Questionnaire form and the Attitudes towards Infertility Scale were used to collect data. For data analysis number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi-square test, t test in independent groups and one-way anova test were used. Results: It was found that 92.2% of nurses would prefer In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatment, 74.4% found freezing sperms suitable, 70.3% found freezing oocytes suitable, 5.4% could accept surrogacy. There was significant difference between gender and views towards IVF (p <0.05). There was significant difference between marital status, having children and opinions about surrogacy (p<0.05). There was significant difference between age, gender, education level, marital status, having children and attitudes towards infertility (p <0.05). Nurses' working years don't affect their attitude towards infertility (p> 0.05). Conclusion: The rate of women preferring IVF was higher. The rate of nurses who are single and childless approval sperm and oocytes donation was higher. Single and non-children were more likely to have children by oocyte donation and surrogacy. The attitudes of under 35, graduates of university and higher, singles, childless' towards infertility were more favorable. Key Words: Nurses, infertility, assisted reproductive techniques.
