The effect of nurses on the knowledge and skills of the planned education related to the use of the ventrogluteal site in intramuscular injection

Aim: The research is aimed to examine the effect of nurses on the knowledge and skills of planned education given to the use of the ventrogluteal region in intramuscular injection. Material and Method: This study was planned as an experimental study in the pre-test-post test format. The sample of the research was composed of 30 nurses. Findings: The mean score of the knowledge about intramuscular injection of the nurses to the ventrogluteal site 1. follow-up 45,57 ± 18,502; 2. follow-up 85,13 ± 7,157; 3. follow-up 79,37 ± 6,239; 4. follow-up was 76,53 ± 5,588. 1. follow-up-2. follow-up, 1. follow-up-3. follow-up, 1. follow-up-4. follow-up there were a significant difference between the mean scores of follow-up information (p <0,05). The number of nurses' intramuscular injections to the ventrogluteal site was 3.65 ± 2.700 after the 3rd follow-up, after the fourth follow-up, it was 9,93 ± 18,328. There was a statistically significant difference between the numbers of intramuscular injections performed in the third and fourth follow-ups (p <0.05). Results: The level of knowledge of nurses after education was higher than before the education. Training increased the number of intramuscular injections into the ventrogluteal site of the nurses.
