Measurement Of Knowledge Levels Of Nurses Related With Protection From Cancer And Early Diagnosis Of Cancer The research was carried out as descriptive for the purpose of determination of knowledge levels of nurses, working at the hospitals of Afyon Province center, related with protection from cancer early diagnosis of cancer. This research was made on 210 nurses, working at Afyon Central State Hospital, Afyon Kocatepe University Ahmet Necdet Sezer Application and Research Hospital, Afyon Social Insurance Institute Hospital and Afyon Chest Diseases Hospital, all located in Afyon Province center. Sampling group, consists of nurses who have completed questionnaire form and participated in the research voluntarily. In the research questionnaire form has been used as means of data collection, which included personel characteristics of nurses together with the issues of protection from cancer and early diagnosis of cancer and which has been developed by the research assistant in the direction of literature. In the questionnaire from there are 16 descriptive and 16 knowledge questions. The data obtained related with the results of questionnaire in the research, has been evaluated by using "t test", "variance analysis", and "Mann Whitney U" tests. In the research, a great majority of nurses, received 70 points over 100 points as knowledge point on protection from cancer and early diagnosis of cancer issues. Although the points, received by nurses in the direction of literature were good, there should be no gap of knowledge on such an important issue any way. At the end of the research it is understood that sufficient importance has not been given to the on the job training programs on cancer issue. It is considered that on the job training programs on protection from cancer and early diagnosis of cancer should be increased. Furthermore it was indicated that nurses can determine findings related with early diagnosis that have been neglected or have not been evaluated on an hospitalized person for another reason.
